The USA Rugby League 2014 schedule has been officially approved by all clubs and is now available for players and fans to plan their season for home and away games.
2014 sees the expansion of 4 news clubs to the league including the Brooklyn Kings and 3 teams from the South in the Atlanta Rhinos, Tampa Mayhem & Central Florida Warriors. They’re joined by the addition of the Northern Virginia Eagles RLFC who decided to accept the invitation to join the league as a member voting club moving away from the publicly troubled AMNRL competition.
11 teams will now battle it out in a North & South Conference format with the winner of each to play in the Championship Final on August 23rd (location TBA shortly.) The North will include 7 teams across two divisions with the top 2 clubs from each division advancing to the playoffs beginning on Aug 2 followed by the North Conference Championship on Aug 9.
Season IV kicks off on May 31st in the North with the DC Slayers against their oldest rivals the Northern Virginia Eagles playing their first encounter in over 4 years. Other exciting games include the Rhode Island Rebellion hosting the USARL’s first New York club in the Brooklyn Kings while Boston 13s play at home to the Baltimore Blues.

The South Conference kicks off with a highly anticipated clash between 2012 Champions the Jacksonville Axemen (2013 Runner Up) against newcomer Atlanta Rhinos who most people are expecting to challenge the Axemen for southern bragging rights. The South Conference playoffs start a week earlier on July 26th with the two (2) top seeds hosting the remaining two teams followed by the South Conference Championship on Aug 2.

Peter Illfield welcomed the release of the new schedule, “USARL Season IV will introduce a new level of competitiveness that is sure to attract a wider fanbase to the game of Rugby League.
